Where Is The Church

You promised to love me and watch for my soul
You promised to teach me to walk.
Yet I have stumbled, I'm weary and tired
.I've given much more than I got.
So Where is the church when a Christian hurts?

Why don't you reach out to me and help me to see.
Why don't you say "I love you, " make a stand with me?
Your actions speak much louder than words,
And I hear everything that you say.
So where is the church when a Christian hurts?

It was just your reasonable service,
As found in God's Holy word.
You've neglected your gifts and calling of God.
And the Prize that you've lost, is more precious than gold.
So where is the church when a Christian hurts?

Teach us to bind up the broken hearted,
To give unto them beauty for ashes,
And apply the oil of joy for morning,
Help us to realize that we are the church
We need to be there when a Christian hurts.
