Final Farewell

Life has lost it's luster
The sun no longer shines
Darkness I can muster
If I can see what binds

The pain of all the yesterdays
Are raging beyond control
In darkness I wonder through days
And wonder when I grew old

Death is not to be feared
It will be a welcome relief
Some just don't want to hear
But it is my firm belief

It won't be very long now
Life is fast ebbing away
In heaven I can hear the choir now
As I lay me down to stay

Oh death where is thy sting
A welcomed relief I now pray
You cannot hurt me in my last fling
For now I lay me down to stay
